Geneva is hosting an international conference by the non-governmental organization UN Watch, which monitors the effectiveness of the UN.

The conference focuses on the UN Agency for the Relief of Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the revelations during the War of Iron Swords regarding cooperation between UNRWA employees and Hamas.

Among the speakers is Ayelet Samareno, whose son, soldier Yonatan Samareno, was kidnapped and taken to Gaza by a UNRWA social worker, an act captured on camera.

"A UNRWA worker kidnapped my son," Ayelet told the audience.

It took her a while to process the overwhelming emotions. "How could an employee of an organization supposedly fighting for the greater good commit such a heinous crime?"

"How can the UN employ someone who dragged my son's body across the ground, threw him into a UNRWA car, and took him to Gaza, as if he were a trophy or prey?" Samareno continued.

"The UN is holding my son! Mr. Guterres (UN Secretary-General), look into my eyes and answer me: where is my son? You are here, very close, and you have the opportunity to meet me today and answer me - what are you going to do to return my son? I'm not a judge or an investigator; I'm just a mother who lost the most precious thing in this world. We have evidence that UNRWA employees were involved in the October 7th massacre. And for me, this evidence is enough to understand that UNRWA should not exist. UN, please bring order to your own house."
