The UK government has revealed plans to allocate an additional £54 million budget aimed at bolstering security measures for Jewish communities and their facilities, including schools and synagogues.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak emphasized that these funds will be directed towards hiring extra security officers, installing CCTV cameras, and implementing alarm systems.

Sunak underscored the urgent need for such measures to counter the alarming surge in antisemitic incidents over recent months.

This new allocation, spanning four years from 2024 to 2027, supplements the previously earmarked £18 million designated for the fiscal years 2024-2025.
