Jewish man attacked in Paris outside synagogue
In the 20th arrondissement of Paris, an unknown assailant attacked a man wearing a kippah outside a synagogue on March 1. The attacker physically assaulted the victim with punches and kicks and called him "a dirty Jew."
The victim was taken to the hospital while the assailant fled the scene. Both French and Israeli press reported the incident on Saturday.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin wrote in a post on X on Saturday that "everything is being done to find the perpetrator of this unspeakable act."
BFMTV reported that Darmanin had instructed prefects to enhance security measures around Jewish institutions, including schools, synagogues, and Jewish centers.
The 20th arrondissement of Paris has gained notoriety due to its significant immigrant population.
