Support for Brazil's President declines among voters after his anti-Israel remarks
Reuters reports that the results of public opinion polls indicate a decline in support for Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva among voters after he accused Israel of genocide against the Palestinian people and compared Israelis to Nazis last month.
According to a survey by the Genial/Quaest, 51% of the population supports the president, which is 3% lower than December figures. This marks the lowest level of support since April 2023.
46% of respondents stated that the president is not performing his duties well enough, compared to 43% during the previous survey in December.
