Three Palestinians arrested in Italy suspected of plotting terrorist attacks
Three Palestinians, affiliated with the Tulkarm Battalions, a faction of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Battalions, were arrested in the Italian town of L'Aquila on suspicion of planning suicide attacks in multiple countries.
The report was made by Channel 12 news on Monday, March 11, citing Italian media sources.
Law enforcement authorities suspect that the three individuals were plotting suicide attacks targeting both military and civilian locations across various countries.
Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account:
"Thanks to an operation by the Italian Police, coordinated by the National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office, three Palestinian citizens were brought to justice, members of a military cell linked to the "Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades", who planned attacks against civilian targets and military, even against foreign states."
He also expressed gratitude to law enforcement in L'Aquila for their outstanding work.
