Russian President Vladimir Putin granted an interview to propagandist Dmitry Kiselev.

Kiselev, known for his past remarks suggesting Russia could reduce the United States to radioactive ash, asked Putin about Russia's potential use of nuclear weapons.

"From a military-technical standpoint, we are undoubtedly prepared. Our forces remain on constant alert," Putin responded, emphasizing Russia's possession of the world's most modern nuclear triad.

"Weapons are developed to be utilized. We adhere to our principles. If our nation's sovereignty and independence are threatened, we are prepared to employ any weapons, including those you mentioned," he added.

Putin underscored that Russia refrained from utilizing weapons of mass destruction during the "special military operation" in Ukraine.
