On Tuesday, March 12, the Republican Party held primaries in four states: Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Washington. Former President Donald Trump emerged victorious without facing any competitors.

With 1,228 delegate votes, Trump secured his nomination as the Republican candidate for President of the United States at the upcoming Republican National Convention. This convention is scheduled to take place from July 15-18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. (A minimum of 1,215 votes was required for nomination.)

In the Democratic Party, Joe Biden faced no competitors. He currently holds 2,107 delegate votes, surpassing the required 1,968 votes needed to secure the presidential nomination.

Consequently, both Trump and Biden will soon be officially nominated by their respective parties for the US presidency.

The 2024 election, marking the 60th in US history, is anticipated to echo the dynamics of the 2020 campaign, where Biden emerged victorious over Trump.

On Election Day in November 2024, Joe Biden will be nearly 82 years old, while Donald Trump will be 78.
