The Romanian Parliament recently approved legislation designating May 14, the day of Israel's proclamation in 1948, as the Day of Solidarity and Friendship between Romania and Israel.
The measure garnered support from 241 deputies, with only three dissenting votes.
The proposed celebration includes raising the Israeli flag alongside the Romanian flag and organizing political, diplomatic, and cultural events.
Media outlets are encouraged to feature articles and produce programs on May 14 to commemorate the occasion.
During the parliamentary session, Israeli embassy officials in Bucharest reported that Knesset Chairman, Amir Ohana, addressed attendees via videoconference.
Ohana expressed gratitude to the Romanian people for their support of Israel following the October 7 massacre.
