The Dutch police have announced the arrest of a suspect involved in the attack on the Israeli embassy in The Hague. The detainee allegedly threw a burning object into the building, prompting an ongoing investigation.
According to Dutch media reports, embassy staff members were evacuated, and the building has been cordoned off. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has acknowledged the incident.
“This is unacceptable. Fortunately, there were no casualties. We trust that the authorities will take all necessary measures to prevent such attacks from happening again,” stated the embassy's official page.
The embassy's press service emphasized, "The attack stemmed from incitement and the propagation of hatred, which we all witnessed."
Earlier in February, Dutch security forces had bolstered security at the Israeli Embassy in The Hague, implementing additional measures to safeguard the building.
Just days prior, Swedish media had reported the discovery of a suspicious object near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm.
