Mass shooting at Finnish school leaves multiple casualties
In the Finnish city of Vantaa, a 13-year-old teenager opened fire on fellow students at school. Initial reports indicate that three schoolchildren were injured. The attacker has been apprehended.
The school, which has 800 students and 90 teachers, had recently reopened after the Easter holidays. It caters to both boys and girls aged 7 to 15 years.
Previous incidents of mass shootings at schools occurred in Finland in 2007 and 2008, prompting stricter gun access policies. However, around eight percent of Finnish residents still hold licenses to possess firearms.
