US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that Israel still needs to inform the Biden administration of the date for the start of the operation in Rafah. Discussions continue as the Israeli delegation is expected in Washington next week.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the date for the attack on Rafah had already been set.
"We are discussing alternative and effective ways to solve problems that need to be addressed anyway, but it must be done in a way that does not endanger innocent people," Blinken said at a joint briefing with UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron.
"It is important that much of the anger and outrage directed at Israel over the dire situation of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip be directed at Hamas. It's unbelievable that the world is deafeningly silent when it comes to Hamas crimes," Blinken also added.
