US President Joe Biden is hosting a virtual meeting with G7 leaders to address the "urgent diplomatic response" to the Iranian attack on Israel.

CNN, reporting on the meeting, noted that during a phone call with Netanyahu on Saturday evening, Biden emphasized that the United States would not engage in a retaliatory strike on Iran. He suggested that Netanyahu view the successful interception of Iranian missiles and drones as a victory.

European Council President Charles Michel shared a photo from the talks on his X-blog, showing Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East Brett McGurk, and Chief of Staff Jeff Zients in the White House operations room with Biden.

Michel stated that G7 leaders discussed Iran's attack on Israel. However, he emphasized the importance of all parties exercising restraint. He added, "We are continuing our efforts to de-escalate the situation. Resolving the crisis in the Gaza Strip, including through an immediate ceasefire, will be crucial in achieving this."
