Assyrian Bishop of Australia attacked in Sydney church

The Assyrian Bishop of Australia and New Zealand, Mar Mari Emmanuel, was assaulted at the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd in Sydney. During a sermon, a man dressed in black attacked him and stabbed him multiple times.

Several others were injured, all of them men aged between 20 and 70 years old. Police report that their lives are not in danger. The identity of the attacker and his motives remain unknown at this time.

This incident marks the second knife attack in Sydney in recent days. Joel Cauchi, who suffers from mental illness, killed six people in one of the city's shopping centers.

Among the victims were five women and a male security guard who attempted to intervene.
