Rabbi urges anti-Israel protesters to refrain from using his songs
New York Rabbi Menachem Creditor urged those participating in anti-Israel protests not to use his songs on his X blog.
The Rabbi objected specifically to members of the anti-Zionist movement Jewish Voice for Peace performing an excerpt from the Psalms set to his music at the end of the Passover Seder.
Menachem Creditor composed the music for the words, "For I thought: The light was made by mercy, in the heavens - there You established Your faithfulness," after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
"Those who use this song during [anti-Israel] protests are misappropriating the love and support for Israel expressed in it," the Rabbi stated. He also mentioned that he refuses to take legal action, believing it would attract unnecessary attention.
The Rabbi emphasized that he would continue to perform his songs to demonstrate unwavering support for Israel and to express solidarity with the families of hostages and their loved ones in captivity.
Previously, Menachem Creditor was listed in Newsweek magazine's ranking of the 50 most influential rabbis in America.
