Russian media reported on Tuesday, May 7, that a Moscow court had arrested three foreign citizens who were found guilty of participating in hostilities alongside the Ukrainian armed forces against Russian troops.

According to the TASS agency, the individuals in question are US citizen Troy Offenbecker, Israeli citizen Dennis Desyatnik, and Moldovan citizen Stanislav Gibadulin. The court's decision was made as part of a criminal case on mercenaries, with Offenbecker, Desyatnik, and Gibadulin also being placed on the federal and international wanted list. However, it's unclear from the report which foreign authorities would execute the decision of the Russian court.

The Russian Investigative Committee has revealed ongoing criminal investigations involving approximately 600 foreign citizens from 46 countries. The majority of them are citizens from the USA, Canada, Georgia, Israel, Great Britain, Germany, Lithuania, and Latvia.

Russian authorities label foreign citizens who voluntarily engage in combat on the side of Ukraine as "mercenaries".
