Switzerland's Nemo wins Eurovision, Israel's Eden Golan lands in fifth place
Swiss singer Nemo won the 68th Eurovision Song Contest early Sunday with "The Code." The final took place in Malmö, Sweden, featuring musical compositions from 25 countries.
The results of the final were determined by televoting and jury voting in all thirty-seven participating countries, plus the Rest of the World aggregate public vote.
Switzerland's Nemo won with 591 points. Croatia's Baby Lasagna took second place with 547 points. Ukraine's Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil took third place with 453 points.
Israel's Eden Golan finished fifth overall with 375 points. Most representatives from countries in the professional jury gave Eden Golan zero points. Norway, Germany, and Cyprus gave the most—8 points each. However, thanks to the televotes, Israel eventually placed fifth.
Many people in the audience booed during the Israeli representative's performance, while other performers were greeted with applause. Booing also occurred when points in favor of Israel appeared on the scoreboard.
