'Hamas attacked Israel': Czech Prime Minister expresses support for Israel
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has become the first foreign leader to voice support for Israel following the ICC's announcement of their intention to issue arrest warrants for leaders of Israel and Hamas.
"The ICC Chief Prosecutor's proposal to issue arrest warrants against representatives of a democratically elected government alongside leaders of an Islamic terrorist organization is outrageous and completely unacceptable," he wrote on X.
"We must not forget that it was Hamas that attacked Israel in October, resulting in the killing, injuring, and kidnapping of thousands of innocent people. This unprovoked terrorist attack sparked the current conflict in Gaza and the suffering of civilians in Gaza, Israel, and Lebanon," the politician recalled.
ICC chief prosecutor, Karim Ahmad Khan, requested the issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, and Hamas's military leader Mohammed Deif.
