Israeli yacht sinks en route to Larnaca; crew rescued
An Israeli yacht, sailing from Haifa to Larnaca sank en route. Fortunately, all five crew members were rescued by a Cyprus Coast Guard helicopter.
The incident took place roughly 35 nautical miles off the coast of Larnaca when the yacht lost control and started to sink. Crew members of an oil tanker nearby alerted the coast guard, prompting an urgent helicopter rescue operation.
After the crew suffered a medical emergency, they were airlifted to Larnaca International Airport by a coastguard helicopter. Officials confirmed that everyone rescued from the yacht was in good health, with no injuries reported during the incident.
