A rally supporting Israel and the families of the kidnapped is underway on Fifth Avenue in New York, with over 50,000 participants. Among the participants are families of the hostages, Knesset members, members of Congress, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Among the participants is Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who declares, "Hamas is a terrible evil and will be defeated."
The rally is being held under heavy police security.
