During their vacation in Italy, Israeli tourists Olga Ratner and Alexander Kushnir were assaulted by pro-Palestinian activists at the Florence train station.
"On Sunday evening, after a stroll through Florence, we arrived at the station to catch a train to Milan. Near the platforms, some young people wearing scarves in Palestinian colors and 'Free Palestine' t-shirts approached us after noticing my Star of David necklace. An argument ensued, during which one of them hit Alexander, causing him to fall, hit his head, and severely injure his leg," Olga recounted.
According to Olga, Italian police apprehended the attacker, and they were taken to the hospital where Alexander will undergo surgery.
The Israeli consulate has been informed about the incident. A complaint has been filed with the police, citing the attack as an anti-Semitic hate crime.
