The New York Times reports that one of the reasons for the success of the Israeli operation to free hostages in the Gaza Strip was intelligence data provided by the USA. According to Israeli sources, "a team of American hostage recovery officials" also provided logistical support.
The NYT notes that since the beginning of the war, groups of American and British intelligence specialists have been stationed in Israel for intelligence collection and analysis. These groups collaborate with their Israeli counterparts.
CNN also reports that a unit of American intelligence agencies in Israel assisted in the release of the hostages. The channel highlights that preparation for the operation lasted several weeks, and hundreds of personnel from the military, police, and intelligence services were involved.
US President Joe Biden welcomed the Israeli operation to free the hostages. "We won't stop working until all the hostages come home and a cease-fire is reached," he said.
