In an interview with CNN, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan confirmed that the United States is aiding Israel in locating and freeing hostages in the Gaza Strip, despite not deploying its military for the operation in Nuseirat on Saturday.

Sullivan mentioned that the US has been assisting Israel over recent months, though he did not provide specific details.

He urged Hamas' leadership to accept the proposed ceasefire in Gaza and release the remaining hostages.

According to a report by The New York Times, intelligence provided by the United States was instrumental in the success of Israel's Operation Arnon, which freed four hostages in Nuseirat on June 8, 2024. Israeli sources confirmed US logistical support as well. The presence of American and British intelligence specialists in Israel since the conflict's inception was also highlighted.

CNN also reported the involvement of a US intelligence services unit in Israel in the hostage release, noting weeks of preparation involving hundreds of military, special forces, and intelligence personnel.

US President Joe Biden praised the Israeli operation, stating, “We will persist until all hostages are returned home and a ceasefire is secured.”
