Families of Israeli citizens killed or injured on October 7 have filed a lawsuit in New York's District Court against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). They allege UNRWA aided Hamas in the October 7 attack on Israel.

The lawsuit, involving over 100 families, claims UNRWA officials in New York facilitated Hamas by funneling more than a billion dollars to Gaza over a decade. This money, intended for humanitarian aid, allegedly funded Hamas's weapons purchases and terrorist activities.

Plaintiffs argue UNRWA knowingly supported Hamas, providing access to UNRWA facilities in Gaza, including schools allegedly used to indoctrinate children with terrorist ideologies.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for UNRWA's role in supporting terrorism against Israelis on October 7, distinct from political disputes. The case may impact humanitarian aid operations and international agency responsibilities.
