Israeli animator Tal Kantor, whose film "Piglet's Letter" was nominated for Best Short Animated Film at the Academy Awards this year, is among the 487 artists and executives invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
"I'm profoundly honored by The Academy's invitation to become a member alongside such distinguished colleagues. Thank you for this incredible recognition, dear fellows!" the director said on Facebook.
Amit R. Gicelter, the producer of "Piglet's Letter" and founder of The Hive Studio, was also invited to join AMPAS.

Jessica Alba, Lily Gladstone, Greta Lee, Catherine O'Hara, Alice Diop, Sandra Hüller, Justine Triet, and David Yates are among the 487 artists and executives invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science this year.
