Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Bogdanov calls Haniyeh's assassination 'unacceptable political murder'
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov described the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh as an unacceptable political murder.
"This is very bad. It is an absolutely unacceptable political assassination, and it will lead to further escalation of tensions," said the Russian diplomat.
Commenting on recent events in Tehran and Beirut, Federation Council Vice-Speaker Konstantin Kosachev noted that the Middle East is facing the most challenging times of confrontation.
"This is not a desired elimination of a terrorist threat but an inevitable consolidation of anti-Israeli resistance worldwide. The Middle East is headed for a sharp escalation of mutual hatred," he said.
After October 7, 2023, high-ranking Hamas officials have repeatedly visited Moscow. Bogdanov personally met with the terrorist leaders.
